The Construction Materials Testing Field Technician (I) is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures. What you'll do: Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reportingUtilize drawings, specifications, and diagramsUse specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of resultsMaintain detailed documentation and data from test resultsThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications: Valid driver's license and reliable driving recordMust be able to work off shift and overtime as neededLa Porte office is a petrochemical office, individual must pass a hair follicle drug test.Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistanceAbility to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in soundAbility to kneel and squat occasionallyAbility to walk and stand for long periods of timeAbility to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperaturesAbility to climb occasionally, and work at various heightsAbility to work over night hours and off shiftPreferred Requirements & Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent6 months construction/laborer experienceConstruction Materials Testing experience highly desiredPlant access Intertek: Total Quality.
